Eagles Are Flying

The Major Eagles played their third game of their 2009 Districts against CFR Sunday morning at the Pinecrest Diamond. Kyle K. pitched a great 5 2/3 innings with Matt I. coming in to finish things off. A 3 run home run in the fourth by Christopher S. put our Eagles out in front and they ending up winning the game 6-3. The Eagles now move on the first of two possible final games on Wednesday, July 22, 6:00 pm at the Pinecrest Diamond.

The Junior Eagles played their second game of their districts Sunday morning against the West Carleton-Arnprior/Pinecrest team. Carlos M pitched most of the game for the Eagles. WCA/Pinecrest were up 2-1 when the Eagles hit a home run to tie the game then went on to score 8 more runs. WCA/Pinecrest made it interesting in the bottom of seven, scoring 3 to make the final score 10-5 for East Nepean. The Eagles now move on the first of two possible final games on Tuesday, July 21, 5:30 pm at Hanlon diamond.

The Senior Eagles played their first game of their districts Sunday evening against Pinecrest at Hamilton Yards. The Senior Eagles drew first blood in the bottom on the first inning after a double by Mitch F who then stole third and came home on the overthrow at third. There was great defence by both teams. All Eagle outfielders thrilled the audience with Matt making a diving catch in right to save a run, Tom making a sliding catch to end and inning and Tyler running back and catching one over his shoulder. Bini put in 6 solid innings on the mound and Tom shut them down 1-2-3 in the seventh. The Seniors now face Kanata on Monday July 20 at 6:00 pm at Hamilton Yards.
