May 20th, 2010
As part of picture day on Saturday May 22, we will also be hosting a Hit Run and Throw competition for our teams from Blastball to Major at Eagles Nest.
The Hit portion measures the distance the ball hit off a tee flies before hitting the ground. The Run portion is a timed run around 60 foot bases. The Throw portion measures the distance the ball is thrown down a straight line.
Ribbons will be awarded to the top 3 participants from each team after completing all three events as well as 1st, 2nd and 3rd place trophies which will be presented to the division winners during a game the following week.
In addition there will be a BBQ set up, East Nepean clothing for sale and practice pants for sale.
To support our fund raising efforts for the league, we will be collecting up the Cheese order forms that day.
After a team's pictures are completed, they are to proceed to the tent behind the backstop at Eagles Nest. The coach will receive the tally sheets for their team which they will bring with them and their team to the three stations. There will be volunteers to run the stations and cheer on the kids but the coaches are expected to help organize the players. After your team has completed the three stations, bring the tally sheets back to the tent behind the backstop and the results will be calculated and the team ribbons given out.
We need volunteers to help run this event throughout the day so please email registration@eastnepeanbaseball.on.ca if you or someone on your team can help out. For high school students, volunteer forms will happily be signed in exchange for work at this event.
