It was an exciting night at Hamilton Yards. The Senior Eagles played the Pinecrest Patriots for the right to face Kanata in the finals of the 2009 Senior Districts. These two evenly matched teams treated the fans to some great baseball. The Eagles started the scoring in the bottom of the first but Pinecrest came back with 2 runs in the 3rd and 1 in the fourth to lead 3-1. The Eagles rallied back in the 5th to score 4 runs, 3 on a base clearing double by starting pitcher Levi. Pinecrest took advantage of a couple of errors in the 6th to score 6 and put up an extra run in the seventh to lead 10-5 going into the bottom of 7. But the Eagles showed their character and kept hitting the ball hard and scored 5 runs in the bottom of 7 to tie the game and send it into extra innings. Both teams were held scoreless in the 8th. Pinecrest scored 2 runs in the top of the 9th while the Eagles were unable to answer in the bottom of the inning so Pinecrest will move on to face Kanata Wednesday.
